Born and raised in Los Angeles, chef Niki Nakayama began at the renowned Takao restaurant before embarking on a three-year working tour throughout Japan, immersing in regional flavors and the essentials of traditional and cutting-edge cuisine. n/naka is a personal project close to her heart, creating an evolving narrative with every meal. n/soto will be her second concept after celebrating 10 years and 2 Michelin stars.
Carole Iida-Nakayama

Carole Iida-Nakayama is sous chef/partner at n/naka and applies the philosophies and life lessons inherent in kaiseki to drive her culinary exploration. Her love and respect of Japanese food stems from her families history owning sushi restaurants in Los Angeles. She is inspired by moving tradition forward and making a difference in communities through collaboration and connection.
